The eternally honest city
Honesty the number one value seems to be,
Everyone who’s living here embraces.
Hoards of sea gulls wake me
Actually living and working in holiday places.
Gorgeous architecture close to the sea.
Unnumbered cases a villain here justice faces.
Every walk on the beach works its magic for me.

What a lovely acrostic! Would love to visit someday.
Thanks for joining in with such a loving tribute to your city.
Was a challenge, I thought at first it had to be only nice words. But I’m happy with the result. 😀
Haha! Not necessarily nice words. You should be happy, it’s a lovely write.
Sea gulls are very honest. I love them.😍
Thanks, Melissa. Some are annoyed by them, but I actually find it nice to wake up with the cry of the sea gulls.
I LOVE them. I guess because they are so free, I like to watch them soar across the beach. People say not to feed them, but I love feeding them.🤫
That last sentence…ditto!! Love it
Thanks, Yvonne
I only know the city from the news, the jail, the trials; would be lovely to actually hear about the city itself; and your poem let me have that chance. I did not know and would not have guessed that there are seagulls there for example!
Thank you. It is indeed a lovely city and the beaches and sunsets are great.
This is lovely and diverse, Jan. I feel your city in a way I never did before. You described it so broadly in so few sentences, and I agree, the last line is awesome.
Yes, before I moved here I didn’t know myself that The Hague is on the sea shore. Well, many years ago it was not, but it grew and now it stretches up to some lovely beaches.
You’re always welcome for a visit by the way, Kim 😉
Jan I love how you highlight the city’s commitment to honesty, blending everyday life with its architectural beauty and the enchantment of the nearby sea.

Thanks!
Just a note: your post on d’Verse today for Pinch did not show up!
Thanks, Dwight, should work now. I hope
