Slumber party with Alice

Wake up it’s time for slumber party (6.3.2024, Bing Image Creator powered by DALL-E 3)

Got a friend since childhood
We played wild and good
Exhausted from my filled up day
I slept well, we had it our way
Now days are less fun and arty
She keeps me up for slumber party
Her name's Alice Dora Hellberg Demeanour

Jan H. Hellberg (6.3.2024)

This is going to be a series to explore what having ADHD means to me. The challenges and the awesome traits.

As I don’t like the label I came up with Attention Deviant High-Activity Demeanor.

For this poem however I decided to call her Alice, like the one from Wonderland and Dora like the explorer. I think what she came along with for me is being often distracted and daydreaming, but also indefinitely curious.

And thanks to a friend I came up with the idea to talk about her as if she was a friend and also talk to her, which I did in another poem I might post at another time. Thank you Aida, hope you like what I’m making out of the inspiration I got from you.

It’s quadrille Monday on dVerse again. Punam is hosting and we are daydreaming a quadrille with the word “slumber”. Please join us if you like. This prompt is open for the entire week.

Welche ist/sind deine Muttersprache(n) wenn ich fragen darf?
