Christmas Fever – A Rengay

jh: mount wrapped present
valley of hopes and dreams
spanking stream of time
ml: ribbons and bits of paper
littering the landscape
jh: daylight delirium
I had a feverish dream
christmas
craze
ml: up all night
must make sure
the elf leaves to the North Pole
jh: chasing them around the tree
nutcracker, reindeer, snowman
ml: displaced ornaments
and tinsel – arguments of
"who ate the cookies?"
Melissa Lemay and Jan H. Hellberg (December 2024)
This is a Rengay with seasonal theme by Melissa Lemay from Mom With a Blog and me.
Rengay is a collaborative poetic form of six linked haiku-style verses, created by Garry Gay in 1992. It focuses on a unifying theme, with a specific structure for two or three poets, making it distinct from traditional Japanese renga and renku. You can find more details about Rengay here.
